A DAAL member's gallery is an easy and affordable way for you to promote your artwork online. If you are interested in purchasing a gallery this is where you will find all the information you need to help prepare your content so that it will be easy and efficient for our member volunteers to create your gallery.
The galleries consist of two parts, the introduction page where each gallery is listed alphabetically by member name along with a photo and biography of each member and their contact information, and a pbase based gallery page that contains 'click-to-enlarge' photos of each members artwork.
General Requirements
- You must be a DAAL member with your dues paid in full.
- There is a one-time set up fee for your gallery of $20.00 to be paid in full, in advance.
- After the first year there is an annual renewal fee of $5.00 per year.
Specific Requirements for Content
Organize your content so that it can be turned in via email, an online delivery service, or on disk. (Do not send a list of links to access your content.)
- A recent photograph of yourself. Preferably a head shot (*see specifications below).
- A brief biography/artist's statement of roughly 150 words.
- Your contact info; telephone, email, web site — it's up to you.
- Photos of no more than 30 of your artworks (*see specifications below).
- Each artwork's title, medium, dimensions and price (price is optional).
- A list of 5 artworks you would like to see featured on the intro page.
*Image Specifications
- Photo of artist should be approximately 300 pixels in height.
- Photos of your artwork should be from around 550 to 650 pixels in the longest dimension We will retain the aspect ratio of your original, so the shorter dimension is variable.
- All photos need to be at web resolution — 72 PPI (pixels per inch).
Resources
If you need to resize your photos and do not have image editing software there are many online photo editing services that are free and easy to use. Here, in no particular order, is a list of some of the image editors that you can use to crop, resize and adjust the resolution of your photos.
How to Get Started
Contact DAAL Treasurer Lyn Mazey at info@dublinohioart.com to get started on your gallery. Expect it to take up to 30 days for you gallery to go live. It normally won't take this long but our volunteers sometime have to work around other schedules.
