Twenty-Five & Growing...

For over 25 years The Dublin Area Art League has been supporting and promoting the visual arts in and around Central Ohio. Membership is open to any age and any level of ability, and new members are aways welcome. In addition to several exhibition opportunities each year, the DAAL is a convenient, friendly way for artists to develop their talents, connect with other local artists, and further develop their interest in the visual arts.

Monthly Meetings...

Dublin Area Art League meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month from September through May at the Dublin Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, (map and directions here) from 6:30PM to 9:00PM. In addition to discussing general league business, most meetings include a demonstration and/or discussion by a member of the local arts community. If you are considering joining you are always welcome to attend one of our meetings before making your decision. See our membership page for more information.

Community Events...

Community involvement is an important part of the DAAL. From scholarships for Dublin high school students who intend to major in art in college, to our sponsorship of the Annual Dublin Art Fair, the art league has a long history of giving back to the Dublin community.

Each summer we hold a weekly "Art Stroll and Paint Out" in the Historic Dublin Business District. The strolls take place on Thursday evenings for a few weeks in July and August, with the Paint Out held on the first day. The events coincide with the HDBD Slainté Thursdays and are always a good time. The Paint Out competition is open to anyone to enter for a small fee. Participants have to create a painting in just one day, starting at noon and completing their work by 4PM. Artist's are set up in various locations thoughout downtown Dublin, so It's a great way to enjoy the many dining and shopping opportunities of the historic district while watching art being created by talented local artists. Afterwards all artworks are displayed in the Dublin Library. The Art Stroll is a free event to the public and takes place during business hours of the Historic District. Detailed information on this year's "Art Stroll and Paint Out" will be posted on our "News & Events" page.

Exhibition Opportunities...

In addition to two annual juried member exhibits held in November and April, the art league offers several other opportunities for members to exhibit their work. Each month two members show their work at the exhibition space at the Dublin Community Recreation Building at 5600 Post Road. Several local business' have display space that they allow DAAL members to use for a month at a time. Presently they include Starbucks on Bridge Street, and Edward Jones Investments and Ha'Penny Bridge Imports in the Historic District. Our relationship with the Historic Dublin Business Association sometimes allows us the opprtunity to exhibit and display outdoors during special community events, and there are ocassions when we are invited to exhibit in local galleries, or in conjuntion with other area art leagues. In addition the Dublin Public Library has always been a good friend and often allows us to exhibit in their facility.
